GNM Nursing Admission

Dive into the details of the GNM Nursing admission process and eligibility

1. GNM Admission Qualifications

Basic Requirements: Aspirants must have passed 10+2 with English, securing at least 40% in the qualifying examination from any board recognized by the government. Note: Science stream is preferable.

State & National Open School Graduates: Those who've completed their education from State Open Schools recognized by State Governments or from the National Institute of Open School (NIOS) recognized by the Central Government are also eligible.

Vocational Courses: Students with 40% marks in the 10+2 vocational ANM course from schools endorsed by the Indian Nursing Council, or those who've secured 40% in the Vocational Stream-Health Care Science from recognized CBSE boards/centers are eligible.

Registered ANM: If you are a registered ANM with passing marks, you meet the eligibility criteria.

Foreign Nationals: If you’re applying from outside India, the 12th standard qualification equivalency will be ascertained by the Association of Indian Universities, New Delhi. Respective institutions and State Nursing Councils are accountable for ensuring that your qualifications meet the prescribed standards.

2. Reserved Seats

For Differently-Abled Candidates: 3% of seats are reserved for candidates with a locomotor disability ranging between 40% to 50% of the lower extremity. The same age and qualification criteria apply to them. A specialized committee, inclusive of a medical officer and nursing expert, will determine the extent of the disability.

For SC/ST Candidates: There’s a relaxation of 5% in the marks criteria.

State Reservations: Any additional quotas will be in line with State Government reservations and will be within the sanctioned seat count.

3. Admission Frequency: Admissions for GNM Nursing are conducted once annually.

4. Health Requirements: All aspiring students should be medically fit to undertake the program.

5. Age Limit: Candidates should be a minimum of 17 years old as of 31st December of the admission year. The maximum age for entry is 35 years. However, for ANM/LHV candidates, age is not a limiting factor.
